I’m sorry that you came in with a hope(really?) but you left with anger…seeing all these craps that I did in this blog…(haha~>▽<)

Anyway, I just thought it’s funny to see people actually search for “funny intercultural communication” and got into here… Now I wonder what’s their reaction when they saw my stupid sketches here~ha!  Sorry lar!  Don’t mean to waste your precious research time by having those tags with the post…hehe…(;▽;) I even added a little short message in my About page apologizing for my misleading tags… ha~  Sorry lar people!  This is the reality of the internet ar! LOL

So these are some sketches that I drew for Intercultural Communication class.  I don’t expect people to understand my drawings even with some text explanations for each figures.  Just have some fun looking at them.  If you can even understand what each figures mean that will be the best~ XD

This took me about an hour to draw…

I actually redo the drawing because the Graffiti application does not support saving to come back later or anything.  My computer failed to restore from hibernation that things were unsaved got lost…>”<

This is also a drawing  that’s, I guess, a year apart from last graffiti.  My skill got loosen up a little….and style got change, too?  I don’t know but when I look back at the graffitis that I drew, this one is different than any of the previous ones…The application also has some changes during the days that I “weren’t there”.  Overall I think the application actually runs a little bit smoother than before…maybe that’s a good sign?

Anyway, I just realized his eyebrows are not even….oops.  Oh well, the Graffiti application does not support edit either, so what can I do? ha~

hmm… This is just a preliminary draft that will appear in Era Ticket‘s monthly booklet.

I wanna add some more textures on the upper part of this poster…It looks a littlebit flat right now…

It started with more whites than what you see now….but I just kept adding things onto it….hmm…maybe I should stop doing that~ >”< ahaha~~

ART321 – Project 4 – Flash Advertisement

So the idea that I am trying to convey in this ad is “you don’t have to be a ballerina to wear ballet shoes”.  I first started off showing excuses for not being a ballerina.  You can see from the first picture, I ask the audience if they “always wanted to be a ballerina”.  Then the next scene showing a zebra standing with a crowd of cows representing “though they all have black and white spots but they are still different; therefore, unfit.”  However, my original plan for this scene was to have a picture of an “atypical” size of ballerina shown here.  The idea of having an atypical size of ballerina shown here is because in the world of ballet, dancers are expected to be slim.  If you are not, in my personal impression of the ballet world, you will be rejected right away; thus being “physically unfit” forms an excuse for not being a ballerina.  My concern for placing a photography of an atypical size ballerina is it might be a little offensive for some people, which is something that I am not interested in seeing.  Therefore, I immediately plan out a route B for this secene.  However, I still feel this representation of having a zebra standing among a crowd of cows is still too weak.

Where else could it be? It’s at the Center for the Arts!  It is the second floor of CFA.  It’s a little cubic space that I really like to hang out to.  In fact, I used to sleep on the sofa there, too.

So let’s look back to the first picture.  You can see how comfortable I am.  I have my NB, mouse,  both plugged, cell phone, chapstick, notebook, and a AS3.0 designer’s handbook.  You can also tell from the screen what I’m working on.  I’m working on my term project for COSC 109.

For this project, I decided to create a personal website.  I started off by how I want to name my website since I don’t want to use my name as the title of the website.  If I did, my website will look something like this:

Then…somehow, I forgot how, I came up with the name “don’uts” where I think it sounds like “don’t nuts”.  This interest me all of the sudden.  The drafting of the website was  immediately undertaken but it wasn’t a success the first time.  Somehow, again, I came up with some Christmas theme of “don’nuts”.  It looks like this:

So then I have what you see now created…

I would say it is definitely not the most satisfying template that I can come up…but for the time’s sake…let’s just stay with what I have now…Orz.

So for this Interface Design assignment, I decided to do a website for a movie from Taiwan.

So I started out with some thing looking like this at first….

but I didn’t like it as much, so I went to create a new one…

However, I realized this looks more like a poster rather than a website… so I went on to do another one.  I kept the background because I like how the water blends into the orange; I think it looks pretty nice.

but before I changed the placement of objects, I came up with the above one…
Then as you can guess, I didn’t like it–I think I didn’t like the part where it has a lot of pictures…or something else–so here is the one that is like the prototype of the completed one.

So this one looks a lot like the one that’s completed but with minor variations–font, and object placement.

and before it was transformed to the completed one, I thought the color is a little bit too intense so I came up with this one…

So I’m looking at this and thinking, “that’s more like a romance story!”, which is what part of the movie is about but wait a minute, where is the enthusiasm of the movie??  So I debated over which background should I use and as you probably know, I didn’t use this one.

So here is the final outcome of the website.  As you can see, I also changed the font of the movie title…
